Moreover, your body also needs a period of sleep in order to repair tissues, grow muscle, synthesize hormones, as well as restore and rejuvenate.

How Much Sleep Do You Really Need In A Day?

Healthy sleep is necessary for everyone. People need to rest and retain information. Sleep also important to your life since you will learn skills to thrive in life through healthy sleep. It makes sense that children need more sleep than adults. A one-year-old child needs more than 11 hours of sleep a day, school-age children need 9 to 11 hours of sleep a day, and teenagers need 8 to 11 hours of sleep a day. How about adults? They need 7 to 9 hours of sleep a day. Younger people need to a long period of rest to have an optimal development of their bodies and brains.

However, a person can’t just skip sleep for more than one day and then they sleep for more than a day to pay back ‘sleep debt’. You need to have a good sleep habit consistently. Regardless of our age, a good sleep is important. all of us need sleep every night.
